Scholarships & access
Apply for a scholarship.
If cost is standing between you — or your child — and athletics, we want to help. Applications take about five minutes and are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Eligibility criteria
Who qualifies
To be considered for a COAF access scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following:
- Residency. Colorado resident. Priority is given to the Aurora and Denver metro communities the foundation serves.
- Eligible program. Enrolling in, or seeking to enroll in, a COAF-supported program: youth volleyball (Colorado Boom), youth basketball (Team EVO), or COAF Community Fitness (adults).
- Age. Youth applicants must have a parent or legal guardian complete and sign the application. Adult applicants (18+) apply on their own behalf.
- Demonstrated financial need. Household qualifies under at least one of: participation in a means-tested program (SNAP, Medicaid, free/reduced school lunch, TANF, or housing assistance), or household income at or below the threshold the board sets each program year. [NEEDS REAL DATA: confirm the income threshold — e.g. a multiple of the federal poverty level — with the board.]
- Commitment. A genuine intent to participate for the season or term the award covers.
What awards can cover
- Program registration and club fees — full or partial
- Training, clinics, and skill-development sessions
- Required equipment and gear essentials
How awards are decided
- Need first. Awards are prioritized by degree of financial need and available funds.
- Reach & impact. Priority for applicants from the communities COAF was founded to serve, and for first-time participants.
- Stewardship. Award size is set so the foundation can support as many athletes as possible each program year.
Documentation
No documents are required to submit. If your application advances, the board may request brief verification of need (for example, proof of enrollment in a qualifying program). We never ask for full tax returns or sensitive financial account details.
